12 empty spaces await the London Olympics

Exploring an area of London which is beyond the boundaries of where i would go on a day to day experience, between valleys, wastelands, canals, docks, roads and railways.

All cities need spaces which have no purpose, in between spaces to give boundaries and borders for those places we inhabit. These are exactly those spaces, but of which are unprotected and are experiencing a rapid urban transformation in order to facilitate the London Olympics in 2012.

We were asked to document these spaces, and use photography as a tool both to document and to develop ideas.

Part of the experience was to navigate ourselves around these unknown places, with not much knowledge of the accessibility of the sites, which boundaries we were allowed to cross.
